CONSULTANCY SERVICES

Research designed around
the question.

We support the full social-research cycle - from needs assessment and baseline design to field delivery, evaluation, analysis and decision-ready reporting. Research360 can lead the assignment end-to-end or take responsibility for the workstream where local research capacity is required.

WHERE WE SUPPORT CLIENTS

From consultancy design to decision-ready evidence

Our consultancy work spans six core study types: Needs Assessment, Monitoring & Evaluation, Beneficiary Studies, Baseline & Endline, Socio-Economic Studies and Impact Assessment. We can lead the full assignment, support a prime consultant, or take responsibility for a defined research or fieldwork workstream.

RESEARCH & EVALUATION

Answer the programme, policy or population question.

We design studies that establish need, create baselines, track implementation, measure change and explain how programmes are experienced by the people they intend to serve.

Needs Assessment

Identify priority needs, service gaps, stakeholder priorities and contextual constraints so programme design, targeting and resource allocation are grounded in evidence.

Monitoring & Evaluation

Track implementation, performance, outputs and emerging outcomes while creating structured feedback for accountability, programme adaptation and learning.

Beneficiary Studies

Understand how participants access, experience and value an intervention - including relevance, satisfaction, barriers, trust, inclusion and unintended effects.

Baseline & Endline

Establish comparable measures before and after implementation using aligned indicators, sampling logic and mixed-method evidence so change can be interpreted consistently.

Socio-Economic Studies

Analyse household conditions, income, labour, livelihoods, market access, vulnerability and coping strategies to support programme, policy and investment decisions.

Impact Assessment

Examine what changed, for whom and why, using evaluation designs appropriate to the intervention, available comparison data and the level of attribution required.

FIELDWORK & DATA COLLECTION

Translate the design into reliable field evidence.

We manage the operational chain from programming and mobilisation to training, data collection, supervision, quality control and documented handover. Dedicated fieldwork capability is detailed on our Data Collection page.

CAPI, CATI and CAWI surveys

Programme and administer structured surveys through face-to-face digital interviewing, telephone interviewing or secure web-based modes according to the sample and respondent context.

FGDs, IDIs, KIIs and ethnographic work

Generate qualitative depth through moderated group discussions, individual interviews, key-informant conversations and observational approaches.

Respondent recruitment and scheduling

Mobilise eligible respondents using study-specific screening, quotas, appointment management and local access strategies.

Translation and transcription

Adapt research instruments and qualitative materials across languages while protecting meaning, terminology and context.

Field supervision and back-checking

Use supervisor review, spot checks, back-checks and issue logs to identify field risks while collection is still active.

Multi-country coordination and daily reporting

Apply common protocols across markets while coordinating language, logistics, staffing, progress reporting and country-level adaptation.

OUR DELIVERY LOGIC

Seven stages from research design
to handover.

Each stage is linked to the next. Weakness in framing, tools, recruitment or supervision eventually appears in the dataset, so we manage quality before and during fieldwork rather than relying on final cleaning.

RESEARCH METHODS

Methods selected for
purpose and context

Method choice depends on the question. Quantitative approaches provide measurement, qualitative methods provide depth and explanation, and mixed methods combine both where required.

QUANTITATIVE

Structured surveys

Household, beneficiary, facility, market and population surveys delivered through CAPI, CATI or CAWI according to the sample and setting.

QUALITATIVE

Depth and context

FGDs, IDIs, KIIs, ethnography and participatory methods used to understand behaviour, norms, experience and implementation realities.

MIXED METHODS

Measurement plus explanation

Quantitative measures are integrated with qualitative evidence to explain patterns, triangulate findings and strengthen interpretation.

TRACKING

Monitoring and repeat measurement

Periodic surveys, panels, rolling samples and programme monitoring used to understand change and identify implementation issues early.

INCLUSION

Hard-to-reach populations

Field strategies adapted for mobile, vulnerable, remote or sensitive populations where standard frames and recruitment approaches are insufficient.

ANALYSIS

Decision-ready reporting

Analysis and reporting structured around the research questions, with clear limitations and recommendations grounded in the evidence.

RESEARCH ETHICS

Ethical delivery is part of the research design.

Research with people requires clear procedures for consent, confidentiality, safeguarding, participant welfare and responsible data handling. The exact controls depend on the study population, topic and approval environment.

INSTITUTIONAL DELIVERY

Controls are part
of the methodology.

For multi-country and sensitive research, field management is itself a methodological issue. We make supervision, safeguarding, QA and escalation visible in the delivery plan.

ETHICS
Consent and respondent protection

Protocols cover confidentiality, privacy, consent and the handling of sensitive or safeguarding issues.

PEOPLE
Vetting, training and certification

Field teams are matched to language and context, trained on the study and assessed before deployment.

VISIBILITY
Daily monitoring

Progress, productivity, field issues and relevant digital checks are reviewed during collection, not after it.

VALIDATION
Layered quality assurance

Supervisor review, spot checks, back-checks and structured query resolution are applied according to study risk.

COORDINATION
Country-level adaptation

Local teams adapt implementation to context while working within common study protocols and reporting routines.

HANDOVER
Documented submission

Datasets, field notes, coding outputs and agreed supporting documentation are handed over with clear version control.

NEED A SPECIFIC WORKSTREAM?

We can lead the study or support an existing research team.

Share the TOR, protocol or fieldwork specification and we will define the study scope, responsibilities, methods, markets, staffing and quality controls required.
